Abstract

22,452. Cope, T. Sept. 28. [Cognate Application, 7024/11.] Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and metal springs other than helical and volute springs. - Ceespring spokes in vehicle wheels, or chain - wheels for cycles, are arranged so that the convex or outer side lies tangentially across the hub. The spokes are secured by rivets, and the hub ends b<1>, Fig. 1, are bevelled and engage undercut recesses. Preferably, the spokes are split longitudinally and diverge from the rim, Fig. 3, the hub ends fitting against a rib b<2>, Fig. 2. The divergent spoke may be formed by bending a bar, the centre being secured to the rim.
