22,311. Royle, F. Sept. 26. Coating-compositions; impregnating-compositions.-Felt hats are stiffened with nitrocellulose, celluloid, collodion, &c., dissolved in amyl acetate &c., or used in the form of a varnish with colouring - materials, if desired. The stiffening-material may be sprayed or brushed on one side of the felt, sufficient being used to soak through and show on the other side.
