Abstract

21,208. Metzler, P. M. Sept. 12. Manure and seed distributors.-In a combined seed and manure distributor of the type in which the fertilizer is sown in furrows beneath the seed with a layer of earth between them and the seeds are covered with earth by a drag hoe or scraper, an aluminium fertilizer-spout 6 leads from a container a to a delivery tube 8 attached to a cheek plate 13 mounted on the lever 15, on which is resiliently mounted a disk 14, the fertilizer falling between the disk 14 and the plate 13. Hinged to the upper part of the tube 8 is a clamp or bracket 11 carrying the adjustable hoe-shaped end 10 of a grain-spout 7, which leads from the grain-container b. A pair of drag scrapers 17 are hinged to the back of the clamp 11, and are held in position by an adjustable bracket 18. In a modification, the upper part of the fertilizer-spout is concentrically arranged within the grain-spout, and the positions of the containers a, b are reversed.
