Abstract

17,077. Simpson, V. S. July 18. Tents.-Relates to ridge tents, which are supported at the ends by V-shaped legs pivoted together at the apex, and can be used as hold-alls or valises. A bar k is pivoted to one leg b of each pair to support one side of the tent cover after the manner of an awning, as shown in Fig. 2, and triangular flaps n are provided to close in the ends of the tent awning. The front flap g can be turned up at one corner as shown in Fig. 1, and is secured to the raised edge f of the floor by straps h and buckles i, or other fastenings. The end supports are stayed by guy ropes d, m, and are notched or slotted for the attachment of fastenings. The fabric may be used as a bag, and may be rolled up round the folded end supports and secured by straps.
