Abstract

Regulating - switches. - Resistance switches, particularly applicable as theatre dimmers, comprise an insulating base 6, Fig. 2, on which are mounted contacts 5 and a contact-arm 4 with a pinion 14 secured thereto and adapted to be engaged by a rack 15 operated by a handle 22. The rack 15 moves in a guide-frame 16 rotatable on the axis of the pinion 14. The end 23, Fig. 5, of the handle 22 is pressed by a spring 24 into a hole in the shaft 21 on which it is mounted, thus locking the handle to the shaft so that a number of resistance switches mounted side by side may be operated simultaneously by a master lever 28. Each switch may be operated independently by withdrawing the end 23 of its handle 22 from the hole in the shaft.
