[Addition to 9563/08.] Induction furnaces.-In a furnace of the type described in the parent Specification for melting glass, the annular melting-pot is constructed of materials such as compositions containing graphite, silicon, &c. which are better conductors of electricity than the glass at the same temperature, and which become heated and heat the glass. Preliminary melting of the glass is thus rendered unnecessary.
