Abstract
14,156. Jones, R. F. June 11. Hats, securing to head.-The device comprises a band fastened to the hair and carrying at each end arms pressed outwards by springs, and provided with spikes &c. to engage the inside of the hat. A band a rests on the top of the hair, and is fastened by a flexible band c, pivoted at b, pushed under the hair, and the end c' snapped into a recess h. Pivoted at b, b<1> are arms d pressed outwards by coiled springs but adapted to be retained within protecting- casings f by eyes g. To secure the hat, the ends d<4> are disengaged from the eyes g by a slight downward and lateral movement, and the arms allowed to rise to permit the spikes d' to engage the hat. The device may be of an ornamental nature and, according to the Provisional Specification, the arms may be in duplex form.
