Abstract
8466. Corbridge, W. April 8. Force-feed lubricators. - A portable lubricator is fitted with means for ejecting the lubricant by air pressure. A delivery tube d passes through the cover c of a vessel b, a n d extends nearly to the bottom of the vessel. A i r is supplied from a handpressed indiarubber bulb g, through a pipe f leading to the top of the vessel b. Non-return valves h, h<1>, h<2> are placed in the pipes d, f. The vessel b is detachably secured to a handle a by a bayonet-joint q, and the joint f<2> between the pipes f, f<1> is also detachable. The bulb may have an air inlet valve o, or a hole which is covered by the thumb on applying pressure. A metal plate n<1>, Fig. 4, or a projecting handle may be secured to the bulb to prevent damage, or the bulb may have a covering formed with a hole for the application of thumb pressure. The bulb g may be replaced by a non-resilient vessel expanded by a spring, or by a cylinder and spring-controlled piston.
