Abstract
8457. Werner, W. A. P. April 7. Detachable-rim attachments to wheels; tyre attachments to rims. - A detachable rim b, Fig. 8, carried on a coned wooden ring b<1> which engages the corresponding fixed rim member a, has a detachable segment c fitted with guideplates c<2> and end plates c<1>, the latter being slotted to engage pins b<4> on the main part of the rim b. The rim parts are held in engagement by spring-pressed plungers d, Fig. 3, which are withdrawn by cam, lever, or like devices d<4>. Short security-bolts f, Fig. 4, are secured by sleeve nuts f<2>.
