Abstract

7747. Mead, J. S. Aug. 9, 1909, [Convention date]. Knitting mufflers. A muffler consists of a neck portion 5 formed of two inclined portions 8, 9, two closely-knitted portions 5<a> and two end portions 1, Fig. 1. The inclined portions 8, 9 are formed by a series of stitches arranged in ribs 10, Fig. 3; while the stitches in the end portions are similarly arranged. This arrangement of stitches prevents the muffler from becoming distorted by stretching.
