Abstract

6919. Greenwood, W. March 19. Spools. - A paper cone or spool, such as is used to carry yarn for the manufacture of hosiery and lace, is provided with a clip to hold .the end of the yarn first laid upon the spool, and to prevent the yarn from slipping off in layers during unwinding, consisting of a U- shaped strip C of metal or other suitable material adapted to take on to the end of the cone or spool and having a. bent arm or member E to engage the end of the yarn. In a modification, the retaining-member may be attached to a plate, which is fixed to the cone or spool by rivets or pins.
