[Published under Section 91 of the Act.] Grates.-A travelling grate is formed of elements 1 threaded on to transverse bars 2 the ends of which form pivots for the links of two endless chains 4. The holes in the elements are slightly larger than the bars to allow movement to facilitate the clearing of ashes &c. Guide-bars 13, either straight or with undulations, may be provided.
