Abstract

5140. Buscher, H. March 1. Braiding-machines.-Relates to the provision of appliances for temporarily bringing the bobbins to rest and for subsequently pushing them into engagement with the drivers, in a sequence determined by the jacquard. Each arresting device comprises a plate 5 with an upwardly - directed bobbin - engaging end 6, mounted on a vertically - movable rod 9 and guided by a stationary pin 10. Each bobbin normally comes to rest at the stopping-place, the track plates being flattened to prevent the drivers 7 from reaching the arrested bobbins. When a bobbin is to be put into work the rod 9 is depressed by the jacquard, releasing the lower end of the bobbin stem 3; at the same time a pawl 13, pivoted to the upper end of the rod, and resting on a support 16, pushes the bobbin into engagement with the driver. An alternative form of pusher comprises a sliding plate connected to the rod 9 by a bell-crank and in another form a roller on a projecting arm attached to the rod 9 runs on an inclined surface mounted on the base of the bobbin-carrier. The rods 9 after being released by the jacquard are returned by cams 18 on the hubs of the gear-wheels 17 acting on projections 19, and by springs 11.
