Abstract
2291. Siemens Bros. Dynamo Works, [Siemens-Schuckertwerke]. Jan. 29. Fixed-abutment type; governing and regulating pumps.-Relates to rotary pumps having outwardly-sliding vanes arranged in an eccentric drum. An automatic pressure-regulating device comprises a movable casing which is adjusted in position relatively to the drum by the delivery pressure, the movement of the casing being employed to operate the controlling-means of the driving - motor. A drum c carrying sliding vanes k works in a casing g, which is subject above to the pressure of a spring f, and below to the pressure in the delivery conduit which communicates through an opening o with the lower surface of the casing g. The upper surface is in communication with the lowpressure side of the pump. The part g is adapted to slide in the casing g<1>, and the delivery pressure thereby varies the eccentricity of the drum and the output of the pump. In a modification, Fig. 2, a spring-pressed relay valve v is employed to control the orifice o<1>. By this means, the lower surface of the part g is only subjected to the delivery pressure when this has overcome the spring f<1>. A comparatively weak spring f may therefore be employed. To relieve the pressure under the part g when the valve v has closed, a small opening o<2> is provided. The displacement of the part g may be used to operate the controlling means of the driving motor, for instance a resistance regulator w.
