Abstract

1789. Wilkening, L. Aug. 12, 1909, [Convention date]. Seats for motor-cars &c. consist of strips hung between horizontal bars at the top of the back and at the front of the seat, cushions being preferably attached to the strips. Woven strips f are attached to bars a, b, supported on spring frames g or fixed rigidly to the car body, the back and seat cushions c, d being carried by the strips. The strips may be covered with fabric to which the upholstery is attached, and may be adjustable in length by means of buckles or the like. To give greater resiliency, the strips f may be of rubber or fine spiral wire.
