467. Siemens Bros. & Co., and Riber, C. R. Jan. 7. Telephones.-In loud-speaking telephone apparatus for use in exposed places, the transmitter F and receiver E are mounted on the inner face of the cover of the water-tight casing A. The casing is closed at the top by a plate J which may be replaced by a similar plate carrying a bell or other indicator and having contact springs projecting through it. The raising of the spring 5 by the arm M closes the bell contact 4, Fig. 4, thus connecting the line b to the line c and ringing the bell Q at the other station. A further depression of the switch M completes the talking circuits by connecting the line c at the contact 1.
