Abstract

29,887. Mitchell, W. C. Dec. 21, 1908, [Convention date]. Grab-buckets.-A two-rope grab comprises two bucket sections 1, 2 suspended at their inner corners by links 5 from a transverse shaft 3, and at their outer corners by links 13 attached to triangular levers 8. These levers 8 are pivotally connected to each other on a crossshaft 11 and are themselves suspended from the links 5. The grab is closed by ropes 22 passing around sheaves on the links 5, and is opened by ropes passing around sheaves on the shaft 11. The links 13 may be pivoted in any one of a series of holes in the levers 8.
