Abstract

Arc lamps.-A. consumable rod or carbon R engaging an electrode A so as to regulate its feed is carried by an extension Q' of one of two equal and parallel arms Q Q pivoted to the lamp-frame and to a rod O. This rod is inclined to the electrode, and is engaged by a projection N on its holder, the parts being proportioned so that the arc does not normally reach the rod R. The second electrode may be connected to the first by a cord E passing over pulleys C, or by other means.
