Disk and wheel apparatus. - A commutatorgrinding device is constructed with a forked bracket 1 adjustably carrying a hollow slotted cylinder 2. within which is rotatably carried a leading-screw 3. The bracket 1 is fitted to the dynamo or motor frame, so that the cylinder 2 lies parallel to the axis of the commutator. A bracket 6 is slidable along the cylinder 2, and is moved along it by the screw 3 engaging a threaded nut on the bracket. The bracket 6 carries a longitudinally-adjustable bearing 10, 11 for the grinding-wheel spindle 9, which is driven by flexible shafting 16. The grinding-disk 7 rotates on the spindle 9 at right-angles to the axis of the commutator, and consequently the thrust of the cut is taken by the copper strip being ground, and distortion of the mica strips is obviated.
