Abstract

27,713. Fabbri, S. Nov. 29. Materials for making alcohol.-The fermentation of wort prepared from maize, grain, vinaceous materials, molasses, &c. is carried out in the presence of coal. Lime is added a short time before the conclusion of the fermentation. Maize is saccharified with malt and a small quantity of sugar is added to the wort prior to the fermentation. Coal may be digested with sugar solution and the mixture fermented. The fermented wort is distilled to obtain alcohol.
