Pottery surfaces, ornamenting.-Stencils used in the ornamentation of pottery &c. by means of aerographs, aero-styles, or other spraying-apparatus are mounted in such a manner as to allow of their removal and replacement on the article at any time during the process. The stencils are carried by flexible arms b, Fig. 1, or rods i, and tubes b, Fig. 2, formed with bosses h which are supported by sliding collars d or nuts g on a vertical rod c carried by a rotary table f. The article to be ornamented is preferably supported by an adjustable stand q, which may be mounted on the table f or on a fixed table or bed. In a modification, the arms b slide on an horizontal rod secured to the table of the apparatus ; a stop-rod may be provided for the arms to rest against when not in use
