Abstract

14,118. Motley, L. June 16. Hat and coat stands.-Relates to hat and coat racks for school cloak-rooms &c., in which the hooks are formed integral with separate baseplates adjustably secured back to back on a rail. The inclined base-plates 2, having hooks 4 adapted to engage the edges of a preferably #-shaped rail 1, are formed with lugs 5 adapted to grip the slotted part 8 of a readily interchangeable numberplate 7 when the bolt 6 is tightened up. The numbers are preferably raised on opposite surfaces of the plate, which may be made in two parts fitting together and formed with independent numbers. When the rail 1 is supported by a standard instead of by wall brackets, both of the plates 2 may be formed with hooks. The bolt 6 either clears the rail 1 or it enters a recess 10 in the ridge of the rail and prevents the lateral movement of the fitting.
