Abstract

8154. Cassella & Co., L. April 7, 1908, [Convention date]. Disazo dyes are produced by combining a diazo sulphonic acid with an aminocresolether, diazotizmg the product and combining with salicylic or o- or m-cresotinic acids. According to an example, sulphanilic acid, m-aminop-cresol ether, and o-cresotinic acid are used. The products dye wool yellow or yellow-orange shades, which on treatment with bichromate become red. Metanilic acid or homologues of this acid or of sulphanilic acid may be used as first components.
