8106. Chevalier, P. April 5. Imitations of textile fabrics.-A machine for making fabric without weft by gumming threads together comprises a heated drum a and an adjustable blade e, between which a solution of gum is placed. Bobbins of thread are placed on a carriage l, which is moved parallel to the axis of the winding-drum a by means of a screw n, and the thread passes to the revolving drum, on which it is wound and coated with the gum solution. An adjustable roller f presses the threads against the drum, and a knife e spreads the gum on the threads. The gum may be placed between the roller f and the drum, disks being provided at the ends of the roller to prevent outflow of the gum.
