Abstract

7423. Weir, W. March 27. [Addition to 5148/09.] Steam - engine air-pumps; leveractuated pumps; rod guides. - Relates to improvements in the steamcondensing plant and air-pumps decribed in the parent Specification, and consists in driving the pumping-set from the main engines of a vessel instead of from a single steam cylinder with links and a beam as described in the parent Specification. The pumps are operated by means of levers 6, Fig. 2, suitably connected to the main engines of the vessel, and links 7 which are connected to a cross-head 10 to which the pump piston-rods are attached.
