Abstract

2388. Thompson, W. G. R., and Middleton, E. Feb. 1. Shackles.-Relates to connecting-links of the kind described in Specification 7951/06, and consists in-providing increased bearing-surfaces. The two parts A, B, Fig. 1, of the link are identical. Each has an undercut projection C of rectangular or approximately - rectangular cross - section, and a correspondingly - formed recess to receive the projection on the other part. The recesses are preferably fully open at the ends; but they may be partially closed by a strip D<2>, Fig. 7, which permits engagement from one side only. A stay-piece F, Fig. 7, formed with ribs f which slide in grooves g may be provided. The parts A, B are retained in position by pins E.
