Abstract
27,604. Sanderson, P. A. Dec. 18. Oil lamps; hand lamps spout lamps; oil lamps, preventing overflow from.-Spout or like lamps for use on ships are made so that the oil does not flow out when the lamp is upset. The body a is made preferably in the form of an inverted frustum of a cone, and the spout band body a are strengthened by wires b<1>, c<1> respectively. The top plate a', Fig. 3, is made with a filling-aperture d, which communicates with a channel e extending nearly to the opposite side of the lamp. Since the channel e is at right-angles to the line joining the spout b and the handle c, when the lamp is upset, no oil can flow out.
