Abstract
24,072. Hoffmann-La Roche & Co., F. Oct. 5, [date applied for under Section 91 of Patents &c. Act, 1907]. Hexamethylenetetraminetriguaiacol is obtained by crystallization from a solution containing hexamethylenetetramine and guaiacol ; instead of hexamethylenetetramine, a solution obtained by adding ammonia to formaldehyde solution may be employed, or an ammoniacal guaiacol solution may be added to formaldehyde solution. The product is crystalline and has therapeutic properties ; by distillation in steam it yields guaiacol.
