Mattresses are constructed with stuffed top and bottom portions held together by a length of material along one side and closed on the other three sides by lacing H or the like, one or more sets of springs C being enclosed between the stuffed sections. The springs are connected together and to a wire &c. framing D by tie-wires E, to which the springs are secured by wire or cast-metal clips F of the form shown in Figs. 4 and 6.
