Chairs.-An accouchement chair, applicable as a bidet or commode, and for ordinary household uses, has the seat formed in sections comprising thigh-supports 1, a backbone support 2, and a hinged portion 4 which is folded down when the chair is used in the ordinary way. The arm-rests 3 are formed so that the thighs can pass beneath them. A basin 6 is adjustably supported by swinging brackets 5. A shelf 7 is provided at the side of the seat. The basin and shelf can be swung beneath the seat so as to be imperceptible.
