Sale apparatus. -Notices, advertisements, propositions &c. are placed in a coin-freed machine and can be withdrawn by interested persons, so that an employer can communicate with a person seeking employment, and so forth. The offers are co-ordinated and divided into classes at a central office, where they are printed on sheets ; these, after having been folded and placed in envelopes, are introduced into their corresponding compartments in the apparatus. One division of the apparatus may contain tickets on which offers &c. would be written, a letter-box being provided on the apparatus for the reception of the tickets and other correspondence for the office. Coin action; delivery mechanism; coin-discharging mechanism.-When a coin is inserted in the slot corresponding to the class of information wanted, it comes against a sliding piece i, Figs. 2 and 3, and completes the circuit of an electro-magnet k, withdrawing its armaturej from the path of a frame g. The frame g is pushed in by means of the key e<3> corresponding to the slot, a small plate h holding the pile of envelopes c while the bottom envelope drops through the frame and is delivered. On pushing the frame g in further, it comes against strips l, completing the circuit of an electro-magnet m, Fig. 3, the armature n of which is attracted to release the coin. The frame g is returned to its initial position by a spring i<1>. A modification is shown in Fig. 4, in which two coins are required for operating the apparatus.
