Abstract
19,336. Jerram, H. Sept. 15. Coats are cut from one piece of cloth without seams in the back and shoulders. Separate pieces are cut for the underside of the arms, and a piece is let in each side under the armhole. The cloth is cut as shown in Fig. 1, and comprises the back M, sides 0, shoulders N, and sleeves C, G, H, D, in one piece without seams. The cloth is also cut along C Z and D A to form the arms, as shown in Fig. 4. The line D A is placed along the line C D and Z E is sewn along A F, leaving a triangular opening C A Z in which is inserted a piece of cloth sewn along C'Z and A Z. A piece of cloth of the same shape as the sleeve C G H D is cut out and sewn along C G, H D, and C A D.
