Abstract

16,114. Soc. Anon. des Plaques et papiers Photographiques A. LumiÞre et ses fils. June 3, [date applied for under Section 91 of Patents &c. Act, 1907]. Kinematographs.-A non-inflammable sensitized film is made by having two layers, one of collodion or like impermeable substance and the other of gelatine or other non-inflammable colloid, the sensitive emulsion being applied to the free surface of the gelatine. After development, fixing, &c. the collodion layer is removed by stripping or solution, and the gelatine, which has been protected from injury throughout the different processes by the celluloid aud emulsion, serves as the permanent back of the film. The sensitive emulsion may be mixed with the gelatine, instead of being spread upon it, thus reducing the number of layers to two.
