Abstract

15,990. Streeter, E. F. W. July 28. Envelopes ; seals.-To prevent surreptitious opening, an envelope is sealed by a film of a paraffin wax or other substance of such a degree of hardness that it will take a finger print. The wax e is placed partly on flaps C, E and partly on the sealing flap A and may be surrounded by an embossed ring c. The back E is cut away so that the postage stamp can be secured to the three folds A, D, E. Perforations d, g are provided to preserve the seal and stamp intact during opening. In the case of an envelope of ordinary form, the film of wax is placed over the point where the flaps meet.
