Abstract
11,117. Slope, C. G. May 22. Teapots &c.-A teapot is divided into two compartments d, e by a preferably diagonal partition b, having an opening in the lower part normally closed by a gate f adapted to move in guides g. A rod h, fixed to the gate, is surrounded by a spiral spring i attached to a lug k on the partition band to a collar j on the rod, so that the spring tends to lift the rod and gate. Tea is brewed in both compartments simultaneously ; when that in the first compartment has been used, a sliding catch on the cover of the pot is moved permitting the spring i to lift the gate, so that the tea in the compartment d becomes available. The spout c is constructed as shown in order to present a large straining-surface s.
