Dithiosalicylic acid compounds are produced by the action of a sulphantimonate, a sulpharsenate, or a sulphstannate, on o-diazobenzoic acid or on a homologue or analogue thereof, or on a derivative of either of these compounds. Thus may be produced dithiosalicylic and p-p<1>-dibromdithiosalicylic acids. Thiosalicylic acid compounds result by the reduction of the corresponding dithicsalicylic acids.
