Abstract

220.. Nicholson, A. H. Jan. 1. Switches, electro-magnetic. A polarized relay b for use in selective signalling systems is arranged to open a circuit when energized by a current of either sign, its armature carrying two contactsprings c, d in series in the circuit. Thus the relay performs the functions of a non-polarized relay, but is free from any uncertainty of action due to residual magnetism. Specifications Nos. 146 and 23,255, A.D. 1902, [Abridgment Class Electric telegraphs &c.], are referred to.
