Abstract
23,515. Storey, W. E. Oct. 24. Bakers' ovens, lamps for; lantern shutters.- A box containing an electric lamp, and projecting into an oven to illuminate it when necessary, is closed in front by a semicylindrical mica sheet and has means for operating a shutter which also automatically switches the lamp on or off. The shutter d moves between the mica sheet c and the front a, which is partly cut away, and has a flange d<1> at the bottom which is secured to a pivoted plate e in a lower chamber b of the box. An arm g is pivoted to the plate e by a pin g', and carries a roller g<2> which is guided by a cam h. When the shutter is closed, the arm is in the position shown by broken lines, and when completely open a brush g<3>, which is supported on the arm g by an insulating block g<4>, connects contact-pieces j in the lamp circuit. Both the shutter d and the plate e turn on ball bearings. Perforations in the bottom a<2> of the box admit cold air, which escapes by a flue a<3> from. the top.
