Typewriters and like machines.-Relates to cash registers of the kind in which dial indicators are operated by slides set by moving pointers along scales, a record being printed by a movement of the setting-lever at right-angles to the setting movement. The slides 12 carry underneath the type 16, and above the racks which operate through gear 19 the pinions attached to the indicating- dials 1 and have. also pivoted to them the setting- levers 10, carrying the pointers 14 moving over scales 15. The slots in which the levers 10 move have toothed lower edges so as to ensure exact position for indicating and printing, and the levers work between bars 26 carried by side arms 27, 28. When the levers 10 are depressed, the platencarrying bar 37 is raised by the lever 34 and rod 32, adjustment being allowed by the screw stop 33 on the rod 32, which also releases the drawer latch 9. The record strip is wound on the roll 6 by the bevel-wheel 55 and ratchet, the pawl of which is carried by the spring plunger 51 engaged by the drawer.
