Abstract
14,760. Clarke, J. T. June 26. Cutting machines for paper &c.- Hand cutting-appliances for photographic prints &c., of the type in which a hinged board A having a cutting-edge supports the print, and the print is cut by the inclined edge of a vertical knife D on depression of the board A against the action of a spring, are improved by the turning round of the cutting-strip C, under which the print projects, so that the edge faces the board, leaving a longitudinal slit in which the knife D works, and enabling the line of cut to be kept in view. In folding up the apparatus, a bolt A' is disengaged from a stop B', thus freeing the knife D from the slot ; the knife D folds outwards, and the springs D<1>, which hold it against the cutting-strip C, project through the slot, the board A being held down by a lower engagement of the bolt A'. A cord, chain, or other device may be used instead of the stops.
