Abstract

14,295. Greenfield, S. June 21. Buckles.-Tackle for spurs is made from sheet metal stamped out and folded to the proper shape. The pin of an ordinary buckle a, Fig. 13, is encircled by the central link b, formed of three thicknesses of metal, as shown in Fig. 4. The tail-piece e, Fig. 3, is connected to the central link by a pin i and has a hole h to engage with a stud on the spur. The central link may be made of two thicknesses of metal, Fig. 7, and with a rectangular hole j cut in it, so that a bar k is left, to serve the purpose of the pin i. The tackle may also be made by drawing or stamping from seamless steel tubing.
