Abstract

Felloes or rims.-In cycle, motor-car, and like vehicle-wheel rims which are formed from sheetmetal strips A, Fig. 6, the edges of which are interlocked to form a joint lying in the centre of the rim groove, the groove a<5> in the outer part of the rim is formed with shoulders a<6>, a<7> to prevent the loosening of the joint which is formed in the inner part of the rim. The metal blank is passed successively through a roll B, Fig. 9, a shaping-tool C, Fig. 11, for bending over the edges, a roll E used with a suitable mandrel e<1>, Fig. 12, and two rolls F, H, Figs. 13 and 14. These rolls and the shaping-tool are mounted on one frame.
