Abstract

9329. Walker, J. April 22. Couplings, disconnectible. - In a hose coupling, the socket member has inclined projections 3 and a leather, rubber, or other suitable washer 4 which is prevented from falling out of the socket by the projections. The spigot member has studs 1 with inclined faces, which pass through openings and are caused to engage the projections 3 by a partial rotation, pressing the end of the spigot against the washer 4. Both members have the usual pins 5 to receive an actuating-key. The invention is distinguished from cases in which the socket is in the form of a loose nut, or in which the projections in the socket do not serve to prevent the loss of the washer.
