Abstract
5335. Deesz, K., and Pohlig Akt.-Ges., J. March 5. Conveyers.-Apparatus for filling a bucket conveyer comprises a trough f provided with a longitudinal slot in its bottom, and in which is rotated from the conveyer a helical strip of metal e in such a manner that it covers the intervals between the buckets as they pass beneath the trough, and imparts to the material a forward rolling movement. The trough f is mounted on a frame h having rollers g running on rails w, to which the frame may be locked when in operation. The material is fed to a hopper k, access to the trough being regulated by a sliding plate l. The helix e is mounted by means of arms m on a shaft y, driven through gearing from a star-wheel b engaging the supporting rollers t of the bucket chain. The apparatus is moved in the direction of the buckets by holding the helix stationary by a handle n. By rotating this handle, the apparatus may be moved when the conveyer is at rest, or it can be moved in the opposite direction to the movement of the conveyer. Pieces of material of excessive size are reduced by being lifted by the arm m and falling back into the trough.
