Loom swells.-Spring swells are made capable of turning about both horizontal and vertical axes, the invention being a modification of that described in Specification No. 9418, A.D. 1904. The swell c, Fig. 3, has bearings c<1> loosely receiving a rod or bar d, which has a spring e bearing on its central part. The swell moves about a vertical axis, as shown in Fig. 5, and about an horizontal axis by reason of the outer surfaces of the bearings c<1> turning upon the box surface. The spring swell may be continued across the back part thereof, or a fixed rod or bar used, as an equivalent of the loose rod d, the spring e being suitably arranged to allow movement of the swell about the required axes.
