Abstract

27,514. Jones, H. Sefton-, [Meyer, E.]. Dec. 3. Sugar preparations.-A preparation to be known as honey-butter for spreading on bread &c., consists of edible fat, honey, and sugar. A proportion of honey is added to a sugar syrup which has been boiled and allowed to cool to 70‹ C., a little formic acid is added as a preservative and also to invert a part of the sugar, and, after filtering, if desired, butter, margarine, cocoa-butter, palm oil, or other fat is stirred in. Milk may be added before mixing in the fat. If the honey is unusually fluid, a small quantity of granulated honey may be used to induce solidification.
