Abstract
27,473. Old, R. Dec. 3. Slipping of wheels, preventing. - R e - lates to non - skid devices for motor r o a d vehicles in which a wheel having projecting rims or flanges is mounted so as to run normally in an upright position with its flanges out of contact with the ground, but is capable of tilting when side-slip occurs to bring one or other of the flanges into contact. The wheel A is mounted to revolve on a short axle having enlarged flattened ends b<1> to engage vertical slots in the ends of supports c, which are secured to the main axle or other part of the car. The faces of the supports abut against the hub of the wheel and are rounded to permit free movement of the latter. Two or more such wheels may be used.. It is stated in the Provisional Specification that the wheel flanges may be integral with or attached to the usual rim, and may be made of steel or other material.
