Abstract

27,099. Coles, S. O. Cowper-. Nov. 28. Surfaces, treating after deposition.-Relates to the electrolytic manufacture of metal wire. strip, &c. by the method described in Specification No. 21,568, A.D. 1904, the object being to remove the fin or burr. The strip or wire, as it is unwound from the mandrel, is passed through an acid bath, and forms the anode. The cathode, which is preferably another metal strip, is preferably arranged close to the fins or burrs ; a large current is employed, so that the strip may be drawn through the bath rapidly. The copper strip may be coated with a resist, leaving only the burrs exposed.
