Speed indicators of the centrifugal type are provided with a rectifying-cam to cause equal increments of speed to produce equal movements of the pointer, the cam being actuated by a flange on the governor sleeve. A fly-wheel 4 is carried in pivots 4<a> on a rotated shaft 2, and is forced into an inclined position by a spring 20 bearing against the extremity of a link 6, which connects the flywheel to a spring-controlled sleeve 5 splined to the shaft 3. The pointer 12 moving across the scale 13 is carried on an arbor 11, which is also provided with a crank 14 connected by a link 15 to an arm 16 pivoted at 17. The arm 15 carries the piece 19 formed with cam-surfaces 19<a>, 19<b>, adapted to engage with the edge 9<a> of a flanged extension of the sleeve 5, and shaped to equalize the divisions of the scale 13.
