Bedsteads.-The side members 7 of a head-rest for hospital &c. beds are pivoted to arms 6 of brackets 2, which are clamped or otherwise secured to the rails 1, the inclination of the rest being adjusted by means of threaded rods 10 coacting with pivoted blocks 9 on the members 7. Grooved pulleys 11 are rigidly secured to the rods 10, which are mounted in thrust blocks 5 pivoted to the rearwardly-extending arms 4 of the brackets 2. By means of a chain or belt 12 passing over the pulleys 11, the rods 10 are rotated and the inclination of the rest is adjusted.
